Mopeds
Posted: 2004-12-28 13:31:44I highly recommend getting a moped when you stay here for anything longer than a few days. I stayed for a week, a few weeks another time, and several months one time, and had a moped each time.
It meant I could get around when and where I wanted to without paying for the taxi fees that add up fast enough anyways, plus gas was cheap - a few bucks every few days. The parking for bikes is plentiful, even (especially) on Front street, but watch the natives - local Bermudians on bikes will tend to make a middle "third" lane and pass cars stuck in traffic, and they normally do it pretty fast (up to 40 or 50 km/hr)... I never had the guts to do that one...
